Our Ministries

Congretional Care

Congregational Care is available to UB families in seasons of sorrow, sickness and setbacks. These ministries range from hospital and shut-in visits, to cancer and HIV support groups to funeral arrangements for a love one. We also take joy in ministering to those who are grieving, joining them in their immediate sorrow and following up with them weeks, and sometimes months, after their loss.

Congretional Care/ Bereavement

The Bereavement Ministry is designed to offer support once the funeral or memorial service has been planned, by offering a resolution; or a plant; or food for the repast. Additionally, the Bereavement Ministry helps coordinate and plan funerals/memorial services at UB. The ministry locates resources that are needed to plan a service, such as: funeral homes, obituary writing, florist, catering, et cetera. The ministry also assists with secures facility, as well as any UB ministry that is needed for the services. Select resources and amenities are for active UB members only.

Congretional Care/Sick & Shut-In

The ministry checks on and communicates with the sick and shut-in of the church through visitation, calls and cards. On a monthly basis, the ministry offers the ability for the sick and shut-in to still participate in the sacrament of Communion.

Congretional Care/Cancer Support

The Cancer Support group serves others with activities for cancer awareness, education, advocacy and spiritual support through prayer.

Congretional Care/HIV/AIDS

The UB HIV/AID Group provides a support system for people living with HIV/AIDS and their families through a faith-based support group demonstrating the love of God. Our group serves this community by offering prayer, spiritual education, comfort, and awareness and prevention information.

Men’s Ministry

As servants of God’s kingdom, Gideon’s Army seeks to provide a transparent atmosphere for men to share and be heard on a variety of issues that are specific to men. We use resources of fellowship and teaching to develop godly character to equip men to influence their community for Christ.

Women’s Ministry

We are your sisters in Christ! Our monthly fellowships are geared to bring women together to learn, share and grow both spiritually and naturally. Aside from our monthly fellowships, there are also annual retreats set up for you to encounter, discover and grasp new victory, away from your day-to-day responsibilities in order to nourish your inner spiritual longings.

Medical Wellness

The Medical Wellness Ministry was created to help carry out Pastor C’s vision for our church to minister to people: mind, body, and soul.

Young Adult Ministry

The Young Adult Ministry offers the word of God via bible teachings, discipleship, outreach and creative arts. The Ministry is a safe haven for young adults where young adults come to be educated, transformed, inspired and activated in their faith.

Church School

Church School seeks to empower God’s people with the way of righteous living by employing biblical principles in practical, everyday life situations. The purpose for these classes is to provide a small group opportunity to study and discuss God’s Word, to understand and expound God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ, and learn how to apply His Word to our daily lives.

Scholarship

Financial Literacy

Financial Literacy Ministry informs and inspire individuals through simple reminders, practical strategies, seminars and other initiatives. This ministry will promote disciplines that will help individuals become better money managers, able to avoid overspending habits that ultimately lead to stress or overcoming unexpected financial crisis.
